Sinemis is the solo project of Turkish producer Sine Buyuka, who weaves the ancestral Sufi music of her homeland into sophisticated, techno-inflected ambient. Her first release was Medi, featured on the Wind Layers compilation by 7K! in 2021, followed by her mini-album Dua on Injazero Records in November 2022. In 2023, she contributed to the Piano Day compilation alongside composer James Heather on Nils Frahm’s label Leiter, and to the Women in Turkish Electronic Music compilation on Sub Rosa. Her debut full-length album Farewell, released in May 2025, received critical acclaim from leading publications.

Before moving to London in 2012, Buyuka worked as a culture and arts journalist and hosted a radio show in her hometown Istanbul. She is the founder of the avantgarde label Injazero Records, hosts a monthly radio show on Resonance Extra, and teaches electronic music at Guildhall School. Her mixes have been featured on Worldwide FM, Resonance FM, Open Lab, Subtempo, Soho Radio and NTS. She has performed with artists including James Heather, Midori Hirano, Chantal Michelle and Laila Sakini. Her remix collaborators include KMRU, Mabe Fratti, Eomac, Deena Abdelwahed, Huma Utku, Tegh, Maral and others.
