Katsunori Ishii

Katsunori Ishii is the recipient of the Third Prize at the 59th Music Competition of Japan, the Fourth Prize at the Robert Casadesus International Piano Competition and the First Prize at the Hamamatsu International Piano Academy Competition.


As a soloist, he has collaborated with world-renowned orchestras and has been a regular participant in international festivals, both as a pianist and as an educator. Over the years, Katsunori Ishii has also served as a jury member for numerous international competitions. Since 2006, he has been a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Experts of the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition.


His discography includes Schubert’s Impromptus D935, Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition and the album Words of Love, which features works by Granados, Stravinsky and Schubert.


Katsunori Ishii currently serves as a Professor at the Tokyo College of Music.
