Notes
Anton Bruckner Locus Iste
A piece of choral music collectively arranged and adapted for the ensemble featuring electronics. We chose this piece as the homogeneous sections alongside the contrasting electronic interest works well together to reimagine this historical work.
Alban Nolan Humming
Humming is a piece constructed of samples of the instruments in the quintet coupled with vocal humming. It explores an ambient sound world and the relationship between live and electronic music. It was inspired by a walk around St James’ Park in winter in which the sounds of nature were heard along side the sounds of the streets and the hums of the cars.
Daniel Pengelly Celestial Worlds
Through three movements, a story portraying a traveller navigating their way throughout the universe, passing through different planets on their journey. Each movement is a different planet and depicts the wonders and mystery that characterise each location.
